Yesterday, I went on my own to an area of Caracas where people had blocked off streets with cement blocks, metal and burning things. Two different Venezuelan journalists later told me in general this happens for two reasons. One, not usually (or fairly) covered in corporate media is political, the "guarimbas", protesters shutting down areas, causing chaos. I’ll include a couple of good links to articles on these in years prior. They got incredibly violent, to the point where supporters of these guarimbas stabbed and burned people alive, menaced journalists, etc. The other type of road block is apparently done by people from an area that are trying to get attention of government for a specific need. So for example now, with the US-manufactured electricity crisis (I don’t think to people who are following events here I need to insert the "almost-certainly" US instigated caveat I had in prior posts, as it is now so clear), the lack of electricity has created a lack of water. People are re
